Professor Dennis Sanchez, an alumnus
of the University of Southern California and San Francisco State University, founded the East Side Spirit and Pride Club in 1992. After endless dedication
and hard work, the club has been very successful in reaching hundreds and hundreds of students and motivating them to succeed. Professor Sanchez's unwavering devotion to the club has
enabled it to be prosperous
in achieving its objectives each semester and fulfilling the promise behind its mission statement. Countless students owe it to his efforts that they were able to realize a dream to transfer, which they originally would never have expected.
Professor Sanchez is renowned for his versatility. Besides being an prominent and respected English professor in East Los Angeles College,he is also a
distinguished writer,and has authored a total of five
books thus far.
They include: Grammar Perfect, Reflections from a Looking Glass, Grammar Perfect: a Brief Handbook, Grammar Perfect Workbook, and Literature Made Easy.

These five books pertain
to correct usage of grammar,analyses of literary works,and
introductory writing. They are widely used by students in the college and in educational institutes in the surrounding community.
Professor Sanchez's proud and energetic baseball team, The West Hills Crush. As the coach of this team Professor Sanchez constantly reminds them the phrase,
"Quitters Never Win and Winners Never Quit".
Also, professor Sanchez mentions something which has major life values good for everyone young and old alike:
"With perserverance, hard work, and endurance, nothing can stop the achievement of one's dreams"!
